So Thailand has 2 new confirmed cases of the H1N1 virus.
Considering the close border between Singapore and Thailand, Singapore will be hit, eventually.
It'll be in a matter of when.
What's weird is according to our health minister, the Dorscon code will remain yellow if someone in Sg is tested positive for the H1N1 virus.
Here's an excerpt.
"
So for example, if the confirmed case is a student, he will be isolated and his classmates put on home quarantine. Mr Khaw, however, said there would be no need to close the school or quarantine all its students and staff.
Likewise, if a hotel guest is found with the virus, there would be no need to shut the entire hotel.
And if an airplane passenger is infected, only those seated close to him will be quarantined. The rest would be free to go, though they would be advised to closely monitor their own health and seek help promptly if they are sick."
So what if, someone who isn't dat far from the infected person, has really low immunity for some reason, at dat point of tyme, does dat mean he/she walks free undetected? Until his symptoms surface?
We're talking about of the lyfe of Singaporeans being put at risk.
By the tyme an infected person is detected, its gonna take ALOT of work to trace people he/she has been on contact wit for the past week.
And by the tyme we're able to trace them, we have a whole lot more to trace.
Its a vicious cycle.
One we have to take extra care of.
